The core skills – finance, people, technology, strategy, risk, and culture – like the Trivial Pursuit Pie.
Basic organisational skills that we all learned at Uni and places like that.
I reckon there are two surrounding circles that support, inform and Power-Up the TP Pie.
Things that were not taught back then at Uni but we need to learn them now.
The inner Power-Up circle:
– Transformational Thinking
Thinking about how everything needs to change, constantly challenging. The Blue-Sky thinker.
– Integration
Ensuring that all the systems and processes that make up the TP Pie are fully integrated. Data flows from one area to another seamlessly and instantly, becoming information. This is about systems AND processes, all of which need to work together.
– Speed
With all that Blue-Sky thinking and integration going on, organisations still need to be speedy and agile… able to pivot on a $1 coin. Obvious after the last six months in the world.
– Engagement
And then, the stakeholders, who need to be engaged. Not just customers, shareholders, employees. In 2020 a much wider group of stakeholders is demanding to be heard, who are ignored at peril.
