Stakeholder Engagement

Something for 21st century directors to think about.

I bought a #NAIDOC shirt online last night.

I was wary – I have wanted an indigenous patterned polo for ages but have not been game.

I do not identify as Indigenous, so did not know if it was appropriate.

But then I found on their website …

“Our Why … “Connecting through Design” underpins our core belief that all Australians need to acknowledge Australia’s rich heritage. … by others wearing it, they acknowledge it and so, by embracing it, change can happen.”

And there it was. As an Australian, I was invited in, and engaged.

As 21st century directors we talk a lot about engaging stakeholders, and how it should be done from the view of the employer, supplier, management team or board trying to engage stakeholders.

This was the reverse.

I was the stakeholder with whom they wanted to engage.

They found my pain point, answered my question and signed me up.

Effective engagement in action.

One of the skills that is demanded for 21st century directors is the ability to engage with stakeholders.

We might not yet see them.

But they are C21 empowered and feel like stakeholders.

Who, if properly engaged, can become supporters or even customers.

Do you know who your stakeholders are, and what their pain points are, so that you can engage?

Jump over to here to book a call and talk about the best ways to engage with stakeholders – even those who do not know it yet!
